No more Zee?

Zee no longer appears in the current Shimano line up chart. Parts still in stock are mostly the DH specific ones, and many on a pretty big discount, which usually means close out. No other "budget heavy duty" stuff in the lineup.

The Zee RD was a good one for 20-24" kid bike upgrades, I think it will be missed.

Where are you finding closeouts? I'm looking for brake levers.

Universal, but... Not in stock. You know how it's been.

The cranksets were a screaming deal, as they were heavy duty with steel spindle and eyelets, a hundred bucks everywhere, and included the BB. They only needed a smaller NW ring for a trail bike. But the standard pre-boost chain line 68/73 versions seem to be sold out everywhere, only the 83's are still around with DH / Super Boost chain line. Which has some possibilities but not as standard

The entire Shimano gravity lineup is up for a refresh. Which, frankly, is long overdue. When Zee came out, 4 pot brakes were Zee/Saint only. Now just about any group has them. Cranksets generally went towards Boost chainlines ( for better or worse ). The only part that still kind-of makes sense is the rear mech/cassette/shifter ( imo, the best part ) but generally speaking, the industry went into 1x7, narrow ratios for gravity stuff.

So - maybe it is a foreshadowing of things to come? There were spy shots of 'sainty' looking RD some time ago.
