Niner MCR sizing????

1641 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  fux
So I am ready to pull the trigger on an MCR but can't figure out the size. I am 5'10"+/- with a 33" inseam. What size should I get? Please help if you could.

Matt

Sorry, I know this has been beaten into the ground.

What's the top tube length of your current bike?

If I had to take a guess, a medium would probably suit you fine. Also I've read that Niner themselves will help you pick a size if you talk with them on the phone.
I`m 5`7, On a small sir with a setback seatpost.

I would say 99.9% medium for you.
Yeah, the top tube on the large would likely be a stretch for you. I'm 6'3" and am using a slightly shorter stem than what was on my 26er.

I have an Air9 in medium (16.5) I just fitted-up last night. I am 5-7, 165lb, 30" inseam. I am running a 50mm stem, titec 8deg sweep flat bar. It's a tad short, but pretty comfy. I could see a 5-10 guy riding it with a 100mm stem.

I knew it would be a tad small, but I wanted to make sure I could get weight over the rear wheel.

Hmm....

A tad small? With a 50mm stem, I would have said a tad large.

Im running a setback post and 90mm stem on a small, for the same grip on the rear wheel but able to get over the front to keep it rubber side up on the corners.

Almost all the 5`7 folk I know of who have niners use small frames. I suppose it must come down to preferance.

This still keeps the OP in the medium.

Try rubber side down. It's even more fun! ;)

Nice bike, btw.
5' 7" ride a small MCR with Thomson setback seatpost and 100mm Thomson stem.
Done and done...

I placed the order today through my LBS. I went with the medium in gold.

I was told it would be in at the end of JULY! That really sucks. At least I have the On-One and SS to keep me rolling 'til then.

Thanks for the help folks. I will try to post a pic when it is built up and dirty.
