Hello, I am pretty much a newbie when it comes to trail riding or cross country, but here in Evansville, there isn't much trails and definitely no mountains.:madman: The trails that are here are completely unkept and horrible (thorn vines, spider webs, logs and giant trees), nobody maintains any of it. I'm actually to the point of trying to start a group here in the area to keep the trails clear and fun, but I don't have the slightest idea on how to do that. If there is a thread on here about that, could anyone turn me to it??? I would greatly appreciate it:thumbsup:

A fellow Hoosier, I am located in Columbus, IN and we have many miles of trails with in an hour drive of us. Awesome.
Check out Hoosier Mountain Bike Association. HMBA just built some trails at French Lick that is fairly close to you. You could start a SW chapter of HMBA and you will get a lot of support with direction, possibly money, labor, etc... Great group to be involved with.

Check out Scales Lake in Booneville, it's fun.
Also, they are working on trails at Harmonie State Park about 30 mins west of Evansville. Just got to ride them this past week, nice 4.5 mile beginner loop (flows well) & an intermediate out & back (will be a loop when finished).
Check out HMBA forums as well.

I've only been there once, but we found it without too much problem. Down past the boat launch I think. The gate workers can likely tell you better then me :)

Just checked out Harmonie State Park's bike trails, and I can not wait to go back and take some of my family with me! Those trails are so well groomed and I did not run through any spider webs, the trails are so well maintained I am so happy you mentioned it Shark. Thanks again.

Sweet! Glad you had a good time. HMBA has been doing a great job of the trails around Indiana the last few years.
Oh yeah I'm excited now. I can not wait, I was going to go today but it started raining hard, and I've heard that you shouldn't try and ride on muddy trails. Plus I only got 2 hours of sleep last night, after doing run with Team13 and an hour walk with my dogs. I was wore out, but I'll be damned if I'm not able to go this weekend.
