Hey guys... I am about to purchase my first mountain bike and would like to hit the trails right away. I'll look like a fool since I have no skills, but would like to start trying! Does anyone know of any good trails in/near the Greensboro, NC area??

Owls Roost and Wild Turkey are the most popular and there is a new trail Blue Heron, all of these trails connect.

I live in Mebane. Yes, Owls Roost and Wild Turkey are great. Country Park in G-Boro is ok, too. Haven't ridden Blue Heron yet (heard about it, though). Northeast Park in Gibsonville has a fun trail, too. Chapel Hill also has some nice trails behind Chapel Hill High School. Sanford has some good trails, as well as Hobby Park in Winston-Salem. And Raleigh has some really good rides. Google triangle mtb. Supposedly Lake Cammack, in Burlington is being re-designed (trails exist there already, but they need some work). I keep hearing rumors about trails possibly being built here in Mebane, too. Lots of good trails not too far from Elon.
