Hey guys I know you all heard this before but am in a hard situation deciding on what MTB to get (preferably a FS). My budget is roughly 2K - 2.5K. Would like to limit it to around 2K and spend the extra money on helmet, shoes etc etc. What is the best MTB out there bang for your buck?? Thanks in advance!

I've never heard that before! Seriously, it should not a $ question. Go to all the LBS's you can visit. Talk to the store dudes about the type of riding you will do the majority of the time. Then ride and feel those bikes. Then look at cost. You'll surprise yourself and probably save money.

PIC1, make sure you are going to "stick with it"before laying out that much money. Otherwise you end up with a very expensive piece of "garage wall art". (And all your local LBS's are saying, "Cedar Branch, SHUT THE HECK UP!")

The giant looks cool, if I had that kind of money I would definitely be considering that, but I also really like some of the top end mongoose's like the boot'r or pinn'r Or save yourself some cash and get a teocali

Yeah its hard to say I was not sure if I was going to like the sport so I got a nice mid range hard tail. Turned out I loved the sport and rode alot around 2000 miles in a year. I went through lots of parts wheels crank gear cassette hubs chains ext. the whole time wishing I got a better fs bike. This year I got one and I love it it is so much better than the hard tail xc bike. BMC trailfox

Yes would actually prefer a FS bike so would look into this - never really heard of BMC before
