Hello folks,

I'm starting to get quite a bit of chain suck on my bike when climbing, especially on short bursts, and wanted to know if the 2k miles on this granny shows enough ware that it needs to be replaced.

Thanks in advanced.

chain_grab | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Here is what happenes when the granny gear gits too worn. The chain will refuse to release and lock up. This will happen on a hard pull like when you are trying to dodge an automobile. Yours looks fine but the granny gear is the one thats needs to be the newest. A chain lockup could damage your frame also. Start shopping now.

Or you can try to reverse the ring. It does not have any pins or ramps, and the wear is only on one side of the teeth. Flip it, rotate it 90" and see if it's better. Otherwise small rings are not very dear...
