Yeah, I wish I could ride. I'm so completely toasted from skiing earlier this week that I can barely move.

Damn, old age sucks.

I just did a nice easy 4.5 miles in 45 minutes moving slow in the snow. Rest up and ride again in the new year!

I did 1000m of vert down some natural tech.... oh yeah.

In fact the last week of the year totalled at 3200m vert super tech descending, oh hell yes....
Ps that's all ride, push, carry up.

Pss it's the middle of summer here.

The kitty litter here is actually so saturated from the abnormal amount of rainfall that it feels like I’m dragging a dead body behind me. Can’t imagine what you people dealing with accumulated frozen water are feeling… so I guess I’ll quit my bitching.

😉
Weather was 52 and sunny at noon, hooked up with a buddy at 1 for an easy road ride, fog rolled in off the ocean, light drizzle, temp went to 43 and I froze my ass off. Coldest I've been on a bike in years.

I suppose that I might get out in the snow on the neighborhood trails tomorrow. I haven't done a snow ride for a very long time. It will likely be pretty slushy.
Ice ride to end the year…

This is the current condition of the Smith Creek Trail, where I'd hoped to ride today:

We recently received 10" of wet cement, which brought down lots of trees, limbs and other forest detritus.
The tree across the trail in the photo above is about 20" in diameter.
I turned around and drove home.

Rode Happy Place in Fallon Nevada, overlooking the Naval Air Base, 35 deg, 20-30mph winds, started sunny, ended cloudy. Two hours, cold ears , otherwise it was a good ride.

Tomorrow we’ll ride in Carson, mixed snow and dirt, overnight in the teens high of 32 tomorrow, no thaw issues, just a little New Year’s Day ride to start off right.

Next weekend it’s Vegas baby!

Did a 10 mile ride today and was able to complete a trail system I’ve only been able to do portions of. Had a great time out, but if it wasn’t overcast it would have been a hot day for December riding.

As they say; it makes me feel like a kid again. On the other hand, the number of floaters that showed up in my eyes in the flat white light did not 😅.

Going riding, tho. :)

I’ve been riding in the new year for years now. I always torture myself New Year’s Day hoping it will set the tone for the year. Woke up early this morning and did 35 miles, about 12 of those miles had over 2200’ of climbing crammed into them. Lots of HAB.

New years day ride in the neighborhood. 13 degrees F and 7” of fresh snow so wasn’t sure the trails would be packed enough yet. Toughed out 5 miles without freezing.
