New X9 Shifters Compatible w/ old X9 Derailleur?

678 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Frankie Figs
I have an '07 X9 rear derailleur and '06 X7 shifters. I'm thinking about picking up a set of new X9 shifters. Will they be compatible? Im assuming they will work but I just want to make sure. Also, is it worth it to upgrade? Theres nothing wrong with my X7's but I figured the X9's would shift smoother/faster.

Thanks,
Frankie

Yes. They will work. Yes, the shifting will improve.
Do you think it will improve $100 worth? lol

a set of x.9 shifters are $115 bucks at pricepoint. You can get a new x.9 der with that for $144. Personally I wouldn't pay $115 for them, and I have x.9's. What I mean is look for deals on previous years models. You can save a bunch.

Oops, I meant to type $100, not $200 lol Im not looking to buy right now, maybe later. I realized I dont really need them, so they can wait. I'll definitely look around before I buy them!!
