New Uzzi VPX built and ridden (finally!)

Just got the whole thing together this weekend and did a urban/dirt ride with it (had to pedal up a bunch of pavement to get there). Easily the best bike I've ever ridden, pedals really firm but soaks up the biggest hits without a flinch. It's weird riding something that is so firm and resposive knowing it has so much travel on tap. I'm doing a few more rides this week on it (actually, every day if I can) and this weekend heading out to Gooseberry Virgin.

As pictured it weighed in at about 36.2 pounds. I'm planning on a Ti spring and some tubless so I might get a tad ligher...

The bike came stock with a 400lb spring, I swapped it for a 550 which only gave me about 10% sag. I'm going to try a 500 on wednesday. I'm about 220 w/gear.

nice bike but i dont think the fork is matching to well. white camo with bright orange? now that doesnt work
Orange plus camo

= b!tchin
awsome, awsome bike but yea that camo is kinda off there
Awesome bike! I'm really liking the orange too. All the nice FS bikes I see on here keep giving me the itch to buy one to join my ht. Must fight the urge..

Edit:
Damn! That thing is extremely light also! Must be a blast to ride!
Hey were you up riding at the U today by chance? I saw someone with a bike like yours and noticed youre from SLC. If so, We stopped and chatted with some(you?) guys for a few minutes and I was riding the Specialized Big Hit

They are both Hayes, but I used to run a direct mount on my Titus Quasi...which I got an adapter to run on my Banshee Chaparral. The adapter didn't work for the Uzzi, and black was the only thing they had in stock at the shop. That front brake is an *original* Hayes caliper with a replaced shell on the lever. Both those are 5+ seasons old.

Orange + Camo rox0xrs...btw.

Not too much. there are some decent jumps by the union and marriot library, but i had been riding since noon, so i had to take off, but we're headed up to I street for some more fun Tuesday if youre interested, if not maybe ill see you around sometime on campus.
BTW, your bike looks sweet, it definately caught my attn when you rolled up.
So you're coming down this way this weekend? If so, let me know. I can show you guys around little creek. I think you'll like it better than Goose. I'll PM you my info. BTW nice bike. I'll be curious to see how that thing compares to my VPF.

very nice
HUGE Props to a fellow VPX'r.

Everytime I see a painted version I regret asking for Satin Black.
I was actually thinking of sending it back to Jeff and asking him to do a custome color for me.
I was thinking Pink...but maybe White.

No way....dude that black is boss
Hey I saw you guys up there yesterday too! Heh. Too funny. I was running with my wife, yall passed us going the same direction. I was wondering where you guys were heading all armored up on the big bikes. Nice rig! I'll look for you at I Street this week...will probably be heading up there a few days this week w/ the extra daylight after work now. --either a red Foes FXR or white Big Hit w/ Shiver--
I have a question about the VPX's and VP-Free.

Do they have the same "feel" as a v-10?

I have an '03 v-10 and it is not really a jumping bike, and it is hard to even bunnyhop due to the VPP. It is really built to PLOW through rough rocky stuff. Are the newer crops of VP's similar in that respect?
Holy Smokes!!! Thats one heck of a nice bike dude! I even like the camo fork. Cool ride man, sure wish I had the money for one LoL
finally ridden??? Where are the action pics
Little Creek!

I'd love to hook up, I'll check my mail... We were going to hit Little Creek, but going with people who know it will be better than us just exploring.
