Just built this baby up over the weekend. I've been racing a Yeti ASR all this season and loving it, but I wanted to get a HT back in the stable. I figured giving Niner a shot would be worth while.... the EMD9 is a killer value.

Only thing to change is wheels.... these are a set a borrowed from a friend until mine come in from Stan's. I just went with regular ZTR355 rims, ZTR hubs, and black revo spokes. They should be a good bike lighter than these Hope hub wheels, with the white rims (although they do look killer!).

Build is:

Large EMD 9 moondust grey
Reba Race 29er, 100mm pushlock
Syntace F99 105mm stem
Syntace Duraflite carbon bar
ESI Chunky grips (cut down)
Thomson Masterpiece seatpost
Sella Italia SLR saddle
Salsa seat collar
Magura Marta brakes, 160mm rotors
X0 gripshift
X0 med cage RD
XTR cranks
XTR FD
XT 11-32 cassette
Eggbeater 4Ti pedals
King Ti cage
Chris King headset
Specialized S-works Fast Trak tires

Weight was 22.38 lbs with the heavier wheels. I'm hoping to get it down to 22 with the new wheels and a few other tweaks. But, regardless of weight... this thing is amazing. I'm debating on even keeping the Yeti around after getting some rides in on this.

Damn, man I'm sorry you couldn't really go to town on the build and had such a tight budget :skep: :D LMAO :D

That sure is one seriously blinged out EMD and fantastically light, looks real nice
:D I'm pretty happy with the result for sure. Now if my alu and Ti bolts will just show up :)
22 lbs! Holy moly, mine came in at 26.6 lbs, but I didn't exactly build it up using the lightest parts. None the less, I love it and I ride it more often than my FS bikes. Here's mine, an '07 model in Black. I've got I9 wheels, and and old school Reba converted to a coil spring.

Man, what a sweet bike. I recently built the same frame with 1x9 XT and ok wheels and it's 24lbs and change. It's awesome to know I can get it much lighter in the future!

I see you went with Stans 355's on the rims, what about the rest of the wheel build?
Edit: D'oh... its at the top, not in the main build list. Silly me!
