new stumpy shock design

Should I be worried? So I just ordered a 2009 Stumpy FSR Comp yesterday and it'll be here/built at my lbs on Friday. The reason I chose the stumpjumper over the Trek EX 8 is because Trek has redesigned their shock too many times...and now I find out this morning Specialized just redesigned theirs AGAIN. I'm tempted to cancel the order

Yes you should be worried. As soon as a manufacturer redesigns something, the old design immediately becomes obsolete and performance instantly drops 50 percent or more.

All kidding aside, if you got a good deal on it and you liked the test ride (you did test ride it, right) you'll be fine. Sure the the new bike will have something new, but if you always wait for the latest model to come out, you will never have a bike.

Lol, I know it sounds silly to ask "should I be worried", I know theres nothing wrong with the bike and yes it test rode great ;) i'm just wondering if maybe the previous design was flawed because they only had it for 2 years ... thats generally not a good sign.
No flaws with previous design. It is always nice to have the latest and greatest. However it is also nice to let the kinks get worked out of 1st generation products.
