I just found out the price for frame only will be £1700 or there abouts. Think I'll maybe try and get a cheaper 07 5.5 as there are some deals around.

I don't want to pay double even if the new vpp is significantly better. The rate at which house prices are falling I was kinda hoping the same would happen with the frame

but you get two bikes for the price of one for the new Spider 2...considering the price of other handmade frames, that's pretty reasonale...

why don't you find some reason to take holiday over in the states (one of those special deal flights from london to dc or new york for cheap), find the closest intense dealer and buy one. you'll save some $$$ on the bike even though the dollar is gaining strength, plus you can see NYC or something....
