New Scythe

It took a little longer than anticipated but my Scythe build is complete. The bike was built up with shuttles and lift serve in mind. But I also want to be able to take the bike on some heavy AM style rides.

Frame: Banshee Scythe (L)
Fork: 2010 Totem Coil
Shock: CCDB w/ 450lb spring
Wheels: Sunline DH V1
Tires: Maxxis EXO Minions
Cranks/Shifter/BB: Hammerschmidt AM
Rear Derailleur/ Shifter: Shimano Saint
Chain: KMC X9SL
Cassette: Sram PG990
Stem: Transition Temple Lite
Saddle: Transition Park n Ride
Seatpost: Banshee
Seatpost Clamp: Chromag
Headset: currently FSA Pig (installing gold CK this week)
Brakes: Avid Codes G3
Bars: Race Face Atlas Stealth
Pedals: Crank Bros Mallets/ Canfield Crampons

The complete bike is 40.08 pounds. Pretty heavy on paper, but on the trail it isn't very noticeable. I finished the bike the same day I was leaving for a 4 day Sedona epic. Lots of climbing and a lot of chunky descents. The Scythe loved all of it. I rode it primarily in the 7" free-ride setting. I do believe that the 450 lb spring Cane Creek sent is too much for this setting. But when we did some Shuttles in Jerome I switched to the 7" DH setting and the rear shock came alive. The bike became super plush and it was easier to carry speed through things.

Nice to see it all come together, bud! Looks like a real ripper.
looks good calhoon did you respray the frame
stock color, just added a little mud :D
Must have went out of town...there wasn't any mud here over the weekend???
How do you like it? It is a Banshee, I bet you love it.
Sweet ride Calhoun. I'm completely jealous that you can ride right now as I just got a few inches of snow at my house today.

Mud is from AZ shuttles. So far the bike is awesome. I haven't had the chance to ride it on our trails yet, hoping for Thursday if I can kick this AZ cold!

might be time to change your username :p
Love the bike, I have been thinking of picking up a used one and build it cheap for my shuttle/lift days and lighten up my Rune or pull the trigger on a Prime when they come out for everyday riding....would a great mix IMO...
Good riding with ya Calhoun on those shuttles. Way to much mud that day! Nice looking Scyth!
Thanks for the tour, those are some sick trails! I imagine Madness would be worse without the sludge!
