I had this frame hanging for years.... Finally I'm gonna build it up with all my spare parts consisting of king, Thompson, Easton , XTR ect ect... Don't laugh! It's paid for. My drivetrain is consisting of a 1x9 XT via friction shifter. 34t front chainring and a 34-11 cassette.

I'm not sure what you mean by frankenbike... It's all one bike. Just a mix of old and new btw the title was supposed to say "new beer runner" idk where the beer went to though.

A common problem...
HAHAHA:lol: it would be even funnyer if I drank....... (I just figured a Y bike used for fetching beer would agree with more people here) I'm just slightly worried about the 14 Yo Carbon:skep: Pray for me!

Oh - I'd be far more concerned about a material that fatigues, like aluminum, than carbon.

You'll be fine.

yeah that frame had a relatively easy life (mostly road use) back when it was new.... I did get into the DH scene a bit but never in that bike. Was not much of a trail rider as I am now, back then. Cool! this is a bike that I'm gonna leave @ work for cruises and stuff during my lunch break!

Almost done...

The bike's about 95% done. I've been working on it during my lunch breaks @ work so I don't have much time every day, only about 20 mins a day... Anyway I need to change the front caliper adapter from a 180mm to a 160mm and hook up the front brake, then put the tire on the other rim I have for it. I'm hoping for a sub 25lb build out of it. I rode it today and it seems super light even with the 2.3 trail tire thats on it now. pic's to follow...
