So some folks here may remember seeing pics of my broken-in-two Curtlo a month or so back. Shortly replaced with a RM Flow. Nice ride, but..... Not really what I wanted. Buyers remorse. Planned on a new custom in the fall, but found this frame at a great deal. Exactly what I wanted! *Slightly* used (by the maker) frame built up as a demo model. Built up quickly after dropoff by the Brown Santa yesterday, I snuck out for a quick late afternoon ride before heading to work. (Pics at the bottom)

Side shot. Lotsa' post, nice and roomy for me, and tons of seat dropping capability for those times when deemed useful. Odd size 30.2 post. Going to swap to a shim with a 27.2 post; I like having the same size post on all my bikes. For ease of cannibalization if needed.

A loose rear end. This is with a 2.35 Kenda. I can get a 2.5/6 in depending on the make. Got some 2.4 Panaracer Fir FR meats that have room to spare, and a Maxxis Mobster 2.5 on the way.

Nice beefy stays, disc bracing, and Breezer dropouts. I'm a sucker for those. Yeah, the QR lever is on the disc side. I like it that way on the back end for some odd reason. Probably because of the funky way I do my rear mech cabling, it's easiest for me this way.

Gussets! No more headtube rippage for me, I hope. The cables running through work quite well, and give a nifty-neato-sano look. Only downside is I prefer full housing all around, and the shift housing stops are stops, not guides. If Peyto say s'ok, I'll Dremel them open and ditch the zip tie look. So unchic. Nice open rear brake guides.

Very nice! I've been scoping Peyto's for a while now. That's a WIld Bill, right?

So how does it ride? How much does the frame weigh? What's the geometry?

Is that the frame from the website?

The bike likes to wheelie/manual/be in the air. More so than my meager skills can provide. Something for me to work on. Wonderful handling with the 130mm Z-1 on the front. Was really digging and grooving the techy bits yesterday. I *think* my HA is about 69 degrees, maybe even 68. That and the wide bars feel great while steering.

Gorgeously done seat cluster. The extra sleeve at the stay/ST/TT junction beefs it up nicely, and the TT bracing looks good to me. The Hope QR seat collar is just eye candy. But very well functioning eye candy.

Another big fatty stay shot. Gobs of clearance. Easily will fit the largest tires I'm ever likely torun on this bike. The BB went in nice and smooth, slick as snail snot. I'm from Oregon; that's pretty slick stuff. ;) The inner part of the stays, where the two tubes are joined is reinforced with a small added gusset as well, though it doesn't show in the pic.

Head on with the wiiiiide bars. Cut down to a measly 27" tip to tip. Still dialing in stem/bar seat position. Made sure to give myself plenty of steer tube to mess around with. And oh, how I love the Z-1.

Counter shot. Sort of an olive color. The Peyto logo is very understated. Me likey. Oh yeah; model name is the Wild Bill. The neon bright seat throws the looks off, but oh well. It's comfy, and it's the sea I had around.

yep. shopping around for something to order in the fall, he was on the short list. found that on his site, and it was still unsold so........ it was hanging at his local shop, still on display. some slight marks from his buildup, but i'd say 9/10 shape, for about half what it'd run me otherwise. shipping to me took eight days.

Frame is right about 5#, give or take a bit. rides beautifully. the geo is the same as what the frame you have that pic of is. actually, this is that frame. ;)

All it needs now is a 6" single crown! Are you still interested in Angelfire this weekend? I think that thing would eat up the DH course there :)!
nooope. i'm heading to steamboat area instead, friday through (probably) tuesday or wednesday. angelfire/keystone/silverton. more to come later. and some park days.

FYI, off from today until the 26th. milking to day as a sick day from having wisdom teeth pulled late last week. ow. park day this week?

i hope to get down your way a bit more, and hit the lifts a time or two more this year.

Paul (Payto) gave me the goa ahead on any single crown fork. could probably be ok with a DC, but after what ahppened to the last frame from running a bit too long a fork..... uh, no.

i'll see if i can't pick up a good deal on a z-150 over the winter. that and another king crown, and about five minutes for a fork swap.

Thanks, but I was hoping for some actual numbers since the website doesn't list any.

Do you know the chainstay length, TT length and BB height?

That's a cool looking bike. I really dig how the top tube dives down to give the boys more breathing room. I'll try to get that on my next bike (hopefully a Mutinyman -- but not anytime soon), which is a major asset to us short-legged people :D

I completely missed that link. Dammit! I'm kicking myself. That price was way too good.

Thanks again.

Nice ride. Great color. Does this mean you''ll have to change the color on your toes?
SHut up, Kirk.
