New Q5 XP-E star from DX. Looks to be an 8mm or so star.

I may abandon my XR-E plans and take the XP-E plunge.

I went to DX today and noticed a new XP-E star. It's a Q5 on a tiny star. The page says 12.8mm, but the photo looks like it's about 8mm instead of 12.8. They are WC color so it's not ideal, but I like the $4.99 (US) price. Time to research for the best 10mm or so sized tight optics for a helmet light.

Here is the photo. There is no way that thing is 12.8 mm wide. The XP-E in only 3.5mm, right?

seems in my weak memory of the XP-E's I have that the whole XP-E is about 6mm and so 12mm for that star makes sense. Still a darn small star Could be interesting.
There's a new image at the DX site now which appears to show a larger base than in the image you posted above..

No, they actually have two different items, but with the same title (and one of them is wrong on the size in the title).

The second one is indeed about 8mm in diameter - if you look under "Specifications" it says:
Dimensions: 0.31 in x 0.06 in x 0.06 in
while for the first one it specifies:
Dimensions: 0.51 in x 0.51 in x 0.08 in
Price is the same for both.
