...................if you do that you'll miss RideFest in Oakridge this weekend (7/14-16). Three days of experiencing the best singletrack trails in the good ol' US of A. Rides are guided by the world renowned Disciples of Dirt and the event is FREE.

Don't miss it if you can.

You should come to RideFest. There will be every kind of ride from family-grade to epic hardcore. If you want to have fun without the hammer factor, think Salmon Creek or lower Middle Fork. If you want some elevation gain, views & roller coaster descents, think Moon Point, Alpine, Larison Rock, Heckletooth. If you want technical challenges think Larison Creek.

And of course there are so many others...

Don't stay away! All who join are embraced within the brotherhood. Happily immerse yourself in your newfound sport by associating wit yo peeps. THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!

P.S. First beer's on me.
Hey Beer Man!!

Sparti-

Are they still pouring pints on Sunday!? I am working the cascade cycling classic Saturday night, but I really want to come ride on Sunday. Will there be any epic rides going on Sunday? I'm looking to do something different this time 'round. I mean Alpine, Tire Mt., and such are awesome, but I want something new. Hope to see all y'all there on Sunday. I might be bringing a new face with me on the trip. He's a Portland guy who is visiting Bend. Sounds like he is an avid cyclist and a vetran wrench.

Hey Mudflaps,....you hittin' the dirt on Sunday? Hope to see ya there.
What about the Shigmister? You gonna be there Shiggy?

Check ya later.

I will be there, in whatever tour guide capacity is needed. I am hoping for a ride on upper Middle Fork, the only section of that trail I haven't done. Look forward to meeting you there BFE.

Flaps, what time will the tour be leaving, and where will it be leaving from?

Yo BFE,

At this point the plan is to meet at the Trailhead Coffeehouse (THC) each morning at 9am, find out who wants to do what, then head out on as many rides & in whichever directions people feel.

Sunday will be the wind-down day but there will no doubt still be those who want the epic experience. Personally, I'll probably be up for something a little less taxing than a 40 miler (like Larison Creek or Larison Rock or maybe even Moon Point, although there's a plan being hatched as we speak to do Moon Point as a night ride on Friday).

If meeting time/place plans change from THC, there will be something posted at THC, including a map to the Clubhouse AKA the event's camp/party spot.

See you there,
Sparty

In scrolling back through my emails from General Coonskins, who is "organizing" this unorganized non-event, I haven't found any exact times. Hey, it's informal!
I think it'd be safe to show up at the Trailhead Cafe (right on the highway towards the western end of town) by 9AM and ask around. There's a good chance we'll be there. We keep them in the loop anytime we've got anything organized and they are gracious enough to let us leave vehicles in their lot. If cell service was reliable, there would be other ways, but connectivity depends on exactly where a person is. Therefore the older networks are more reliable, besides which they serve a great cuppa coffee.

I'll be there with bells on

Thanks for the info Sparti-. Sure wish I could be there for the whole event, but I have to pay the mortgage some how. See you at the THC 9am Sunday.

Rumor has it that the Middle Fork full trail will be a Saturday ride, but I havent heard the plans for the long ride on Sunday.

Rumor also has it that a Moon Point night ride is planned for Friday night, so don't forget yer lights. Friday's night ride will leave the THC by 6:30pm to ensure we are on top of Youn's Rock before sundown.
July 14, 15 & 16, that's right This Weekend...

It's looking good for this weekend and there are plenty of rides to go around.

Couple notes:

We are camping at Randy's property east of Oakridge, if you don't know how to get there then stop by the Trailhead cafe and I will leave maps. Camping is dispersed but there will be running water and a Portable Toilet, and is right on the river.

Trek Bicycle just touched base and will have a demo rig there on Saturday and Sunday for people to try out their cool bikes.

Saturday night BBQ: Bring your own, remember beach theme & dress accordingly.

Rides: Plenty of them to go around, I have a few guides lined up to do intermediate to advanced rides throughout the weekend. Fri-Sun.

Questions? Email me before Thursday and I will get back to you.

Time to Ride

Mt. Bike Oregon is in August (not next weekend) and much fancier.

I think the Fat Tire Fest (racing) is next weekend.
I will be around somewhere.
