The Headshock that came with my '06 1FG has new internals. Still 80mm but an integrated air chamber wich makes it the lightest 80mm fork. Other advantages compared to air cartridge is a larger air volume with less pressure , so a smoother fork.
The drawback is servicability. if your air chamber is stripped , you can't change it , you'll have to send it to the factory..... even LBS can't repair that.

I'd heard somewhere the 80mm's of the past only had 73mm's usable, and the '06's might be a true 80? As far as servicibility goes, I cant imagine being more fvcked anyway when (not if) my old headshok needs work again. Gave up on the dealer, even c-dale had 2 tries to f-up my '00 super fatty, still topping with a clunk. I love it when it works, so thinking of getting a new one.
