just wanted to say hi to every one. this seem like an awesome place to learn a ton of info. I just bought my first ever mountain bike. this site helped steer me in a direction on a bike choice. thank you guys! mostly gonna ride pavement till I get in better shape and get used to riding.

i ended up with a 09 gary fisher tasajara. got a good deal (I think) on it since it was a left over model. I picked it up for $619. I thought it seemed like a good deal considering the compnents that come on it, but what do I really know???lol not much!

What do you guys or girls think?

Congrats on joining the Mountain Bike World! The Tassajara is a fine bike to start riding on and is a great platform to upgrade. One of my riding partners has a Tassajara and he absolutly loves it. I think the bike retails at close to 800.00 so at just over 600.00 that was a pretty good find!:thumbsup:
