Personally I think you've found the fork, just need to decide what features you want on it and that'll help you chose which one to get. I'm super happy with my REBA SL and have put it through some serious riding with 2 oil changes and can't complain - well worth what it cost. I am however considering a Revelation as a "maybe" option down the future once all the essential upgrades have been made - the reason I'm considering the Revelation is for it's travel and it also would be a U-Turn version so I would have from 100-130mm. 100 for uphills, 130 for downhills.

Just an FYI, there's a young guy name of Cam Zink who's an up and coming Free Rider and he uses a REBA for some knarly stuff - got to say a lot about the fork when it can be used for FR.
yes, he wants a lockout! do you know which reba has that? and should he get the 2005 or 2006

Looking at the Rockshox website, it appears that all versions of the Reba (SL, Race, Team & Worldcup) have a "Poploc remote option", I thus think that all 2006 versions of the Reba have the Poploc.

The REBA's don't have a lock-out in the traditional sense - which is why they're so great. The RS Motion Control is what provides the "almost" lock-out feature available on most new RS stuff. Whether the bike has the pop-lock or not doesn't have anything to do with if the fork has Motion Control, once again ALL REBA's have it.

When you fully engage the MC the fork will still have about 3/4"-1" of travel available, but will feel very stiff that little travel just makes it still ride over the small stuff and you don't feel it.If you have theMC fully enagaged however and you hit a big bump, jump etc it will "blow off" and use it's travel.

There is an adjuster for the sensitivity of this threshold know as the Flood Gate - it sits atop/in the right fork leg which contains the MC and you adjust it (by turns) to how much force you want it to take before it "blows off" - Here in lies the difference between the SL and the Race/Team - the SL has an internally (via 2.5mm alen key) adjustable while the others are externally adjustable without anything. The Race and Team also sport other differences to the SL including slightly lighter, pop-lock
