You should try and test ride the Nomad and the Blur LT if you can. I recently took both bikes out for a spin, and they're very different rides. I'm more of an XC rider as well, and after much deliberation, I think the Blur LT is going to be the way to go for me. I'm still going to go back and give the Nomad another shot because the rear shock wasn't dialed in at all, and it kind of scared me away being more of an XC rider, but my gut feeling is that the Blur LT will make a fine long travel XC bike.
The Blur LT that I test rode had a Vanilla RLC fork on it, and it left a good impression on me. It was very plush and smooth through it's travel. I'd still like to take a Float XTT out and see how well the trail tune works, but the Vanilla seemed like a really nice fork.
