I recently built up a 2005 Trek Liquid 65 that came with a Manitou 3-way swinger Air with SPV. Back in 2005, these were the shocks to have for these types of frames. Will I notice a significant difference if I were to upgrade to a Fox Float R, RP2 or RP23? Is it even an upgrade at all? Nothing is wrong with my Swinger at all. It has performed well and I've never really done any jumps over 2ft. Mostly XC stuff. Just curious if the bike will feel or perform better with a newer shock since the Floats are newer technology compared to the Swingers..

The Float R would provide no advantages...the RP2 would give you a on/off pro-pedal adjustment (but you would lose the infinite platform adjustment the SPV provides) and the RP23 would provide three pro-pedal adjustments plus an on the fly on/off (but again you would lose the infinite platform adjustment the SPV provides).

I don't think it would make enough difference to justify the price... especially if your happy with your Manitou 3-Way
