Im currently running a slx chainset with the granny ring removed as i dont need that gear like many other here on mtbr.

Now im currently looking for a 2x9 chainset but i dont have enough knowledge to make this decision myself.

chainsets ive been looking at are

fsa k-force light megaexo chainset.but the bottom bracket weighs (150 grams ish
thats heavy)
Are the rings the same bcd as xtr?? so i can fit lighter rings like xtralite or something?

shimano xtr with the granny ring removed with xtralite rings fitted.

FRM 2x9 chainset will this fit a scale 30 ?? will this work on the scale?

Xtralite chainset but im not sure this will fit??

Any help with these or better alternatives will be greatly appreciated many thanks

The specific 2x9 cranks like Rotor and FRM cost a lot of money. you will find some tips to get away lighter without spending a fortune. All you need to know is the lowest gear you need.then visit a gear-chart where you will find the gearing of different chainrings and cogs.

by the way - yes: FRM 27/42 will fit the Scale. that's what the whole Swisspower Team is using (Nino Schurter, Florian Vogel,Thomas Frischknecht etc..)
