Okay, it might not get most people around here excited but did anyone catch the release of the Capo, a singlespeed urban rocket? I guess Cannondale's lawyers felt it was better to put some brakes on it and leave the fixed conversion for when the buyer gets home...

I can sure see this as my 6th bike... if I can find a place to store another bike. :p
Anybody knows the MSRP for that thing?

People need to lighten up on that other forum.....They are so worried about their own "street cred" that they can't even get that Cannondale was having a little fun. Why does everything have to be so serious? It's a cool bike, it has a flip flop hub and the "man" requires that it be sold with brakes. There are people out there that love Cannondale and they asked that Cannondale make a fixie frame so being the company it is Cannondale made some frames and put a very nice bike together. People can hate on it all they want but in the end it's the people having a great time on a really fun bike who will be laughing last and loudest at all the whiners and haters....

This is a great bike I was commuting on one for a few months (only 3 miles each way).

I ran with the brakes and the freewheel. The fixi thing still scares me a lot. It was so nice to commute on. Honestly not having to worry about shifting was nice.

$800 does get you a carbon fork and fairly light kit attached to a great frame with all the classic Cannondale traits.

I already have a singlespeeded F1000 to commute, a fixed gear seems like the next logical step for me! :D

Boing!

Nice ride! I have been doing the fixed commute thing occasionally(currently with twisted chainring:madman: and would really dig that bike. Rockin through traffic is a real treat the first coupla times fixed.... I would be a buyer if'n I wasn't already commited to another 'dale in the near future. One at a time man, one at a time.

And what is in your future if I may ask? Just curious... :p
Well, not to derail the thread but after test riding a nicely equipped Scalpel, I had it in my noggin to pursue one of those ultra light xc machines. Then word spread of the infamous 29'er hardtail that Mathew Lee is testing in the Great Divide and that got my interest a bit more. Especially since rumor has it that it will possibly be announced mid to late summer. My prophet still does multi-duty as we speak but I could stand to loose a coupla lbs at 31-32 equipped. We will see what develops. MTB 1st Road 2nd...

The capo looks bad ass!! I wish I could try one as I am in the market for a street trainer.
It is a pain in the butt to keep switching the setup on my rush.. I'm going to stop in my local bike shop and ask if and when they might get one (in my size) in.. thanks for the post..

I wonder how much it weighs?

Do it! Fixed gears are a lot of fun.

My Schwinn (and my Cannondale so as to not offend anyone).

I choose the Schwinn for our rolling 34 mile club ride last night though.
That Schwinn is Schweet!=:) Is that an oldy, or a more modern rig? Nice clean lines, mustache bars, what's not to love?

Bad Ronald, I completely agree, folks gotta lighten up, between the fixey crowd, and the SS MTB crowd, it's like they think they're "fight'in the war on terrah" or something, either you're with us, or you're with them, and thus, against us. No middle ground, oy vey!

Get it. You'll love riding fixed after the five minute getting used to period and your first raliroad crossing or tight corner. Leave the brakes on and show up for a group ride.

I got the raleigh rush hour over a yr ago when it came out. It is a steel tank but alot of un. It is going for sale and I will be buiyng this optimo bad mofo very soon. miles after miles of fixed gear base will do anyone wonders

I'd love to but I can't spend $800 USD on a bike now, I'll shop for a car at the end of summer/fall, I need a new snowboard in the fall too and I have some extensive tattoo work to get done... eventually. But I'm sure that, according to the 'so cool' fixie forum members, tattoos and a fixie belong together. :D

What are you looking to get for tattoo work? I'm a big fan of the "old School" tattoo style. Here is a pic of my work. It is hard to get more done as my artist of choice lives in Albuquerque NM, and I live in Danbury CT :( The airfair costs as much as the tatoo does....

Nice!

I haven't found my artist yet. I can do the graphics myself but would like to work with an artist to push the design a bit more. I know it's going to be very graphic not too realistic not too many colors, high contrast, but based on real things. I'll have the two legs done, from the feet to the knees. One mountain on one leg to show my passions for mountain biking and snowboarding and a city landscape on the other because I cannot live outside of cities and love to visit other cities, with all the action that comes with it (and where I ride a fixed bike maybe?)... perhaps treated a bit like graffitis, not fully sure yet.

I did that mountain very quickly a few years ago for a TV show opening covering extreme sports (you can see the Quicktimes on my website if you can figure out the french...) but I want a mounatin and city that wraps around the leg and with a different look, less kiddy. So, lots of things to figure out still.

You now know why I said 'eventually'... :p
