The Boy Scouts along with the Forest Service replaced the little bridge on the Dalles Campground Trail. If you have ever done the Skookum White River Loop you probably used this trail https://www.trailforks.com/trails/the-dalles-campground-trail/ and went over the old falling apart bridge.
