i need help deciding between getting either a 2004 banshee chaparral (frame with romic shock) or getting a 2005 azonic recoil (frame with romic shock). it would be built with a 2005 jr.t and 26"s front and back. i'm 6' tall and 185lbs. thanks in advance...

Check out Versus Blitz, very similar to the Chap. price is less & can be ordered with Fox DH5.0 I have the '05 & very happy. The '06 frame is very sweet looking. Also they are local so if there is a problem their right next door almost.

Get the eliminator, just get the RC pushed.
Out of those two, definatley the Chap. Ime terribly sorry to those of you who like Azonic bikes but they are crap. There getting better and I believe that the 2006 lineup will be greatly improved as was the 2005, but this a 2003 Eliminator he's talking about which is quite possibly one of the worst crafted bikes ever made. As for the Banshee, its got less travel and as for performance quality on the DH slopes is no where near the Azonic, however its backed by one of the greatest warranties in the industry, it may take them a while to get it done if for some ungodly reason it breaks but its backed for 10 years and they will do it....eventually. The Chap is a great bike built by people who ride them in the true ''North Shore'', slightly heavier built than most to handle virtually any abuse you can throw at it but it still pedals quite nicely and can be setup for riding all mountain or freeride. The Chaperral is the Scream's little brother.
Don't you live in SB? I have a ROMIC off of my 2003 SUPERMOTO. It has a 3" stroke not sure of eye to eye but if it would fit I could do a good deal on it??? Let me know, I live in SLO
yeah, i live in sb. i decided to forget the eliminator because a friend of mine is trying to get me a good deal on a 2005 recoil frame with a romic...

you are definately eliminated......don't call me or anything...Cali is closed for you...The Eliminator is junk compared to the Recoil...do your research bro

The Recoil is the way to go......you will love the FSR suspension...I can not say enough good things about this bike. I have rode my fat a$$ on this thing for 1 1/2 years with no problems at all....It feels as solid as my big Hit but pedals easier, turns faster, and is a joy to ride....it was the best decision I ever made.....I have the cash ($9,000) to buy any bike right now and I can't give the Recoil up.......... because it is so sweet
