My barrel adjuster for my rear derailleur was bent in shipping. The black plastic peice on the outside is fine, the actual metal adjuster inside of it is bent pretty badly. Obviously this causes erratic shifting (as the cable also has a kink in it) and the occasional chain skip.

I have a Deore 9sp rear derailleur, does anyone know where I can get this piece?

your local bike shop. You'd be surprised what they have laying about. Of course you'll check the threaded portion before getting just the barrel right?

Indeed, I will check the LBS.

I'm not sure what you mean...the threaded portion is what is dammaged, the black plasic barrel on the outside is fine.

Definately take a look at your local bike shop. They should have those miscellaneous parts left over or broken derailleurs they butcher for little parts like that. You can also order the barrel adjuster through the QBP catalogue from the bike shop or even online.
