Yes I was (Im still) excited about my new 66 LIGHT ETA. Once mounted in my fork, no 74mm post mounts in the stores (nor in my neigborhood nor in jenson, pricepoint, greenfish, performance...)
My beautiful fork looks awsome but is resting in my house by a couple of weeks now. I miss the "normal" IS adapters.
Where I can find those 8'' post mounts adapters!!?!?!?!?!

cross post- visit the mfg website for your brakes- they are the ones responsible for making and supplying adapters for different standards.

Hayes mag hd 8'' rotors.

A Goride guy told me I need a part # 98-15069 and a Speedgoat guy told me "Hayes brakes bolt directly to 74mm mounts" in other words he told me I dont need any adapter.

I found in the he Hayes homepage a chart with 2005 forks and earlier models. The people from Hayes just sent me an email asking me what rotor size Im riding.

Im confused:eekster: and worried because I want to ride my bike now.
Any 06 66 owners?

98-15069 is incorrect (that's for IS, not post mount fork), the correct part number is
98-15072

thats the answer!!!...

Speedgoat guy wrong (yes I need an adapter!!!), Goride guy wrong (wrong item!!), and yes you guys were right because I have 8'' rotors so I need an adapter that is #98-15072. (mountain high cyclery, universal cycles and finally hayes tech department answers  ).
BAD Marzocchi!!!! I sent to you my question a couple of weeks ago and no answer. Great forks, bad costumer service:nono:

thanks guys.

There's nothing wrong with the post mount design. It's actually simpler than the "alleged" IS system. You don't even need an adapter with 6" rotors.

The fact that you need an adapter to run 8in rotors doesn't speak bad of the mounting system. There is a slew if things I don't like about post mount, but the bracket for larger rotors is not an isolated issue with post mount.
