Thanks to Zak and Ryan at KLM Bike and Fitness in Rochester Michigan for help with this build, they talked me into the I9's, Hope brakes, SS Lines, Nokon cables, these additions really made the bike.
According to the Topeak scale we're at 24.1 lbs.
I'll cut the steer tube down after a couple of trial runs.

What a beaut!

Nice looking Niner. I'm sure it rides as good as it looks.

Probably a camera illusion but in the last shot, it appears the upper headset cup may not be completely seated.

Give us a ride report after the trial runs.

Questions answered........

29ercat: Can't comment too much on brakes yet, initial feel is great, very solid lever, good modulation, and no issues with installation.
Jake: I believe that it must be the camera angle, upper headset cup is all the way down, maybe it is the green assembly lube that I have not cleaned out yet.
2times: I9's were quoted at 6 weeks, came in just over 3 weeks.

Beautiful Bike! I am building up my '09 Air9 Raw (XL) right now. I should be done by the end of the week.

I would make that a 1X9 though. Simplicity/Weight Savings...

Enjoy!

How 'bout cutting some of that excess steerer tube :)

Otherwise, super build! How much did it cost you to put that thing together?
Did you read the post or just look at the pretty pictures?

Answer to "how much did it cost to put that thing together"

Zion Rasta's question: "how much did it cost to put that thing together" More than I was planning on.......the wheels busted the original budget. I got a lot of components from Chain Reaction's flood sale, the frame and wheels were ordered through the LBS. I have more into this HT than what I bought my 2008 Specialized 29er SJ FSR for in the spring. I was warned that building a bike in pieces was not very economical, but I am now hooked on "more custom". I just started mountain biking in 2008 due to my knees not holding up to my previous sport, running. I guess I can officially call myself hooked to both the sport and the incredibly neat hardware. I just hope my wife doesn't start adding up all of the receipts.

Damn those welds on the niners look good.

That is one silver bike... what's the significance of the red spoke? Anything special about that particular on or just for looks?
It looks cool but it also saves precious seconds in a race when you flat because you can find the valve stem quicker.
