I just bought this 2009 rp23 shock this week and after closer inspection the lower eyelet where you add nitrogen is a lot more machined than on previous years versions. I've attached two picture showing where the machining looks too high overlapping the shaft slightly by 0.1mm. This doesn't seem right but correct me if I'm wrong and all the 2009 shocks are like this?

I'm going to agree as stated above. I have a 2009 RP23. I have bottomed it out a few times and there was still 3 or 4 mm left before the oring went off the shaft.
