Has anyone used the latest XTR cranks for single speed yet? I have searched the forum archives and haven't had much luck. If so what has been used for a chain ring? Are people using a bash-guard. The profile of the big ring is unique so I wonder what set-up would look right. Lastly post pics if you have them. Thanks!

You are right that you CAN use the same rings but is there anything out there that looks right due to the unusual profile of the crank? I think it would look odd to put a flat bashguard in place of the outer ring because the spider arms are not flat. Also I would like to see a pic if someone has one.

there are not that many out there... so it might take a while to get pics of an SS'ed one... do a search if you want too see the 2-ring one...

Those rings are for the 960 XTR crankset, the OP is interested in the 970 /2007 XTR cranks though...
