Nevegal2 or DHF maxxterra 120tpi? - fast/grippy front bikepark tire for light trail bike

I am looking for fast but grippy 2,6" front tire for bikepark days. Mostly green and blue trails and some uphill pedaling but still gravity and lift assisted.
I want to stay below 1kg.

Bike is 12kg Propain Hugene with 35mm wheels and 150/140 suspension. Normal trail riding is done on 2,4" wolfpack cross(730gr) tires.

I have already DHF 60tpi Maxxgripp 2,5"(1060gr) - too slow and soft for me - I don't clear jumps and have to pedal even on downhills
and Kenda Regolith Pro SCT 2,6" (910gr) - almost ok, but I want more grip (and maybe stronger sidewalls)
I was thinking maybe faster and lighter DHF would be perfect for me because I like the handling of DHF

So
Maxxis Minion DHF 2,6" Exo 120TPI Maxxterra (995gr)
or
Kenda Nevegal 2 Pro 2,6" ATC (960gr)
or something else...

I have tried:
Vittoria Barzo 2,6" (895gr) - not enough grip
Forekaster 60tpi DC 2,6" (880gr) - very grippy in winter (ice and snow) but maybe not very good on dry hardpack and stones.
Conti Der Baron Project Apex 2.4" (999gr) - I like it - very grippy, but narrow
Dissector 2,4 60tpi exo maxxterra (890gr) - not enough grip - didn't like it
Specialized Eliminator Grid Trail T7 - listed weight 930gr, actual 1090gr - returned
Wolfpack Cross 2,6" (900gr) - current rear choice (PS! Fantastic on ice and snow)
Wolfpack Trail 2,6" - not available yet
Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2,35 super ground (1010gr) - heavy, narrow, slippery and slow(for the grip)
Rekon 2.6" 120tpi exo Maxxterra (780gr) - not enough grip but very fast
DHR2 2,6" 120tpi exo Maxxterra (950gr) - maybe ok, I only used it in winter but stupidly sold it before spring (because maxxis 3C compounds don't work below 0C)

Haven't tried Pirelli or Michelin tires.

So - has anyone tried Nevegal2 against lighter DHF versions?

I don't think changing the DHF to a different flavor is going to solve everything. You say you like the DHF but it's too slow and soft. When you say soft, have you tried raising the PSI a couple of numbers? You like the handling of the DHF more than an XC/trail oriented tire like the Regolith? Hmmm. Dissector not enough grip. OK I think I have enough info :)

I'm not sure if the new Nevegal will provide more grip than the Dissector; I have not tried either yet but I'm guessing they are pretty similar in overall grip. The Nevegal is not going to provide DHF levels of grip I don't think. It's worth a try. It also sounds like you should try the DHRII on the front. If you like the DHF's handling but you want a bit more speed (and yes I know some people say it's slower), try that tire. I don't think the DHRII is slower on the front at all. Just because the top lugs are horizontal doesn't mean by definition it's slower --- the top lugs are significantly shorter than the DHF's --- it's hard to see that in a picture, you have to compare them side to side up close in person. You'd then see that the DHRII is about 1/2 way to being a semi-slick compared to the DHF's huge center lugs. DHRII rolls fast, trust me. Handling good, braking good. It does get more sketchy at the limit but I think it's worth trying on the front for sure. Nevegal will probably remind you more of the Dissector, for better or worse (they are probably both great tires but maybe not for what you are doing).

DHF 2.5 maxxterra is faster than the Maxxgrip. I'd stay away from the 2.6 personally for park.
Maxxis 3C compounds don’t work below 0 degrees C? Tell that to my bike…🤣

I don’t know why you need DH traction on green and blue trails. Seems like a Rekon would be perfect. I find them fine for green and blue trail situations.

I meant compound is very soft and tacky - not sidewalls.
Dhr2 is an option but I like DHF at the front more.

I know that 2,5 is everybody's favourite but I like 2,6 because it is lighter and has shallower thread. I will probably end up buying both nevegal and dhf and compare them myself. :)

Even maxxis themselves say that 3C doesn't work below zero. I didn't find the url or quote at the moment - but dual compound works much much better in winter - just try yourself.
And I am changing tyres anyway so Rekon is not an option - too slow for racing and not good for DH.

Example video about one of my planned trails this summer(not my video):
Something like this or easier. But I still want to ride uphill afterwards (maybe)

There are some other tyres that maybe perfect for me but couldn't add them to the list because absolutely no availability.
Vittoria Agarro 2,6 - for example.

I run the Nevegal 2 as a rear tire (EMC compound though). Fast for sure, but I'm not sure that "grippy" would be a good description for it at all. Which is why I like running it in the rear. It's super predictable though, which makes it a ton of fun.

0 degrees Celsius is still quite warm. 0 degrees F is getting cold. I use both MaxxTerra and DC in temperatures well below zero Celsius— no problems with either one.

Rekon is slow? Slower than DHF/DHR/ASSEGI/DISSECTOR/AGGRESSOR/MAGIC MARY/NEVEGAL,MORA, etc. How is the REKON slow? Did you get it in maxgrip? Even in maxgrip is it slower than most other tires with knobs and any traction offroad whatsoever?
Do any of the rest of you agree with this?
I have doubts.
I am looking for a fast, but with some traction(not a slick) 29x2.6 for Rocky and rooty riding and elsewhere maybe, and am thinking of trying a Maxxis Rekon EXO+ as a rear tire. Maybe front also.
As I was replying I saw this thread is pretty old. However, this is what my Nevegal2 looked like after 6 hours at Beech Mountain Bike Park in NC. It was a great trail tire, but a bike park tire it is not.

Maybe I should not posted here because I am riding trails Not bike park.
