Grass Valley Sign Donates BONC Signs and Stickers

Long time BONC supporter Ed Townsend of Grass Valley Sign recently provided a generous donation toward BONC's new trailhead signs and stickers. They look great and we are very appreciative. Scott's Drop Reroute Planning Begins

A core group of volunteers will begin the work of planning and constructing the Scott's Drop trail re-route this spring. This hiker/biker-only trail trail will begin near Highway 20 and cross Forest Service and NID lands as it leads down to the lake. BONC will cooperate with the USFS, NID, Nevada County Land Trust and FTA to make this trail a reality. If you want to become involved, please contact Jon Pritchett, who is co-leading this group:

BONC Jersey Order Deadline Extended to 3/15/11

Bullards Bar Ride and Trailwork 3/6/11

Join us as we improve this singlespeed-singletrack paradise. Under direction of the USFS, we will re-route blown out sections of the Bullards' Bar Trail. Meet at 10AM on *Sunday*, 3/6/11 at the Rebel Ridge trailhead (see map). Please bring your bike, as it will make it easier to access the project area. Please also bring long sleeves, long pants, appropriate shoes, a snack and some water. BONC will provide New Belgium beer to participants. Ride after the trail work. Map:

Meetup 3/13/11

Come hang and participate in the planning of the future of mountain bicycling in Nevada County on Sunday March 13, 2011 at 5:30PM at the Five Mile House. Our guest speaker will be Bill Haire, Trails Coordinator of the Nevada County Land Trust. Bill will provide an update on Land Trust trail projects. We'll also discuss future trail projects, social events and rides. Please let us know if you will attend:

BONC Gala Ride with FATRAC 4/2/11

FATRAC will join us for a ride in our own backyard on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Meet at the Five Mile House on Highway 20 @ 10AM. We'll show off some of our local singletrack stash to our flatlander friends (just kidding FATRAC :). This is a No Rider Left Behind ride, so everyone is welcome. We will have provide New Belgium beer to adult participants. We will have BONC membership applications available so you can join up (membership is not required for the ride). Map:

Round Mountain Trail Day 4/9/11

Once again, we will give this precious local trail system some attention. On Saturday, 4/9, meet at the corner of Rector and Lake Vera-Purdon Roads at 10AM.

We will volunteer on the Rock Creek Flume Trail, where we will improve drainage on sections that are perpetually wet in winter months. Please bring long sleeves, long pants, appropriate shoes, a snack and some water. BONC will provide New Belgium beer to participants. No doubt some of us will ride afterwards. Map:

Unified Trails Day 10/8/11

This event is important as it shows other local trail users (equestrians, moto riders and hikers) that mountain bikers are committed to working cooperatively on local trails in the Highway 20 corridor. Please mark your calendar and consider joining us. All participants will get a free T-shirts and catered food; the spread last year was amazing!
