Apparently wheelsize is a thing with these folks too. Including a mullet set up!

I see the occasional unicycler on my local trails. One particular dude is exceptional. I have run into him (figuratively) on some local blacks…that he cleans.

I saw a gentleman dressed in period clothing and riding one of those penny farthing bikes in the RAGBRAI one year. It was a trip to watch him do downhills, where you could here the pedals freewheeling in the wind. He looked like he was suffering on the climbs though, which if I remember right for that particular year, the route was very hilly. Heard a lot of "I thought Iowa was supposed to be flat" throughout the week. I do not know if he completed the entire route.
Last time I was in Moab I witnessed a unicycler 100% cleaning the section I saw him at, on the Slickrock Trail. Not my jam but no shortage of respect for the skillz.

Holy cow the cinematography and editing so soooo horrid I was getting a headache in the first 30 seconds.... I don't care how interesting the content was, the presentation was garbage.

no stars, would not recomend.

Last time I raced the Cream Puff there was a guy doing the donut hole route (25 miles/ 2000 feet or so climbing) on a uni.

Yep, same here. Didn’t make it far and had to turn it off
Huh, riding a unicycle and juggling in the woods? Is this what working remotely looks like when you're in the circus?
Sparty, you could learn to ride a uni, it was my go to for a number of years. I rode muni, pretty tough stuff including expert trails in Moab and GJ..

You just need to buy one and practice every day (y)

As an older gent, I am trying to learn a few new skills that are outside the box for me, so for the holidays I started playing the trumpet; I'm about as musical as a box

Geared hub? I used to ride with him, he hails from Bellingham.

I did have a unicycle and I did learn to ride it.

My 3 daughters went to a grade school that offered open gym time beginning about an hour before first class started each morning. This school also had some unicycles that kids could mess around with. Kids learn fast. Many students got their own unis.

My girls did. This was back in the ‘90s.

I got divorced in ‘05 and, looking to change my life, bought a unicycle. I was 52. Learning to ride it was hard but I expected to reach a threshold at which time I’d “get it” and progressing from that point would get easier.

That didn’t happen. Learning to get better stayed hard. Maybe it was my age, dunno. Anyway after a year or so I decided it wasn’t worth it and gave up.

I love mountain biking, tho. 💕

He's local. I'm pretty sure it was a single speed uni. He did the full 100 miles on a singlespeed mountain bike the year before. Name is Steve, has a Freddie Mercury 'stache.
