Hello, A trail work day is scheduled on Sunday, July 25th from 8:30-12:30 at the Camp Shepard Chalet area. (~395 Northwest Rd, Westfield, MA, 01085)
As you may (or may not) have heard, NEMBA has been working with the YMCA to develop a Mountain Bike specific trail system on their 80+- acre parcel. The area has/will have varied terrain, from smooth single track to natural and man-made freeride obstacles. Once complete, this trail system will be a resource available to all Mountain Bikers, free of charge.
A small group of volunteers have been working, when schedules permit, since late spring. We have carved out approximately two miles of trail, so far. The Trail Day on the 25th will aim to put the final touches on those first two miles, and hopefully cut another mile+ of new trail, as time allows.
Please bring water, snacks and tools (rakes, clippers, handsaws)
