For my new HT build: 2009 Salsa Ala Carte 1x9


Me: 185lb, trail XC rider in New England. I ride aggressive on my Mojo SL but will be a bit calmer on the Ala Carte.

My Needs: Tubeless & wide rim (ie Crest or AMC MTB) has to be able to spend time on both bikes so I need to be able to convert b/t 9mm QR and 15mm TA.

Crest or Arch rims laced to some Dt Swiss 240 hubs.

Neither the Crest or the Arch is wide...the Flow is wide. The ZTR front hub is convertable to 15mm (the HD version is also convertable to 20mm). This setup will run you just under $500. You can use Hope Pro 2's if you want to spend $700.

I was looking for a lighter rim than the Flow.

I already have a set laced to kings and I love them for my trails wheels on the Mojo SL.

I was realy think about the Crest with Hope Pro2 up front (for easy conversion b/t 9mm and 15mm) and either AC or Hadley rear.

The other option is some of last years AM MTB26 tubeless wheels that can be had for a good price here and there.

I am now also contemplating the some sets I have seen with ARCH or 355 but I have realy enjoyed the width of the flows and would like something close.
