I bought a 2005 Coiler Primo frame off of Wheelworld a few weeks ago. To make an extremely long and frustrating story short, I took it to a shop to have the bottom bracket installed over the weekend. The shop owner was chasing/facing the shell when the tool BROKE off inside the frame. This is a very reputable bike shop and also a Kona dealer, the owner is an extremely nice guy. Anyhow, he finally got the broken piece out but the bb shell is toast.
I need some advice on what to do next! He is going to contact his Kona rep and see if they can find me a 05 Coiler Primo triangle. I'm not sure how long this will take though. My next option, he has offered me a Deelux model which I assume is the same frame just a different color. He would just swap my DHX5.0 shock over and call it done. What would you guys do?
I feel bad for the guy, not only is he out of an expensive tool but he has to replace a frame that I didn't even buy from him. I totally believe in supporting your LBS but I also have to support my wallet.
