Hey Guys,

I am looking to get my sister a new bike for her B'day (she won't spend the money for herself even thought she is an avid rider) and want to purchase from a LBS near her so it can be serviced regularly. Problem is that I live in CA and she lives in TX. I know that [email protected] Hammerhead is in the area, but I am looking for more mainstream bikes. I am thinking Specialized or Santa Cruz for her, which turns up Bicycle Sport Shop, but I know nothing about them as a dealer. Does anyone have any experience with them. What about other shop recommendations in the area?

I have lived in the Austin area for all my life. Before going to work at a small shop down in Kyle (south of Austin), I pretty much dealt exclusively with Bicycle Sport Shop. Though I never purchased a bike there, I did use their service department (before I got smart and learned to work on my own stuff). They are a great shop. They know their stuff for sure. My only complaint is they are a little high on their prices. They will charge you for every little thing they can, including little rubber cable donuts.
