I have the first model Switchblade, I believe 2003. I have the original Float R shock that I keep inflated to 150lbs (I weight 163). I just replaced the fork with a Revelation (originally Psylo SL). So now the fork feels very smooth over even moderate hits but the rear has always seemed to send the impact straight up the seat post. I'm not sure the float is to blame but I'd love a bit smoother action. I know Fox now has a new 23 shock for 2007.

I have the bike setup in the 4.5" travel position and use it mostly for common trail riding. I see new frames coming out such as the Santa Cruz Nomad or the newer 6" trailbikes. Maybe it takes one of these to get a more plush ride but hopefully my Switchblade is still pretty current. If something in it's design is now dated, plase let me know.

Thanks

Shock have come a long way in the past couple years. The newer Fox shocks are less progressive, have less spiking and weigh less too. The SB can definitely benefit from some platform to reduce squat on the climbs. Also, I developed a rather wonky pedal stroke after riding the SB exclusive for about 8 months due to the bob (for lack of a better word).

Since the new 07 RP23 has been released, you can pick up an 06 RP3 fairly cheap. You loose the ability to turn the platform completely off though. However, you could get an RP3 and send it to PUSH Industries for a full custom tuning for about the same money as the RP23. The 3:1 leverage ratio on the Switchblade could definitely benefit from the customization.

Also you should do a search or post up on the Titus forum for more opinions.

Thanks,

I've been told by someone ad Titus since posting this that the SB may not even take the RP23 shock due to width constraints. I can't see what he's talking about by looking at my bike (the shock doesn't seem to sit inside anything). If Titus is telling me it might not work, any idea how to find out what would ?
