I made the mistake of trying my S-I-Ls Nomad with Talas on a rooty/rocky trail and I'm wishing for: 1, a plusher front shock and 2, better traction from the rear tire.

I went back a few years here and read about the RockShox Tora 318 but it's discontinued. I see Tora this and that but confused about which is best. Other reasonably priced recommendations?

Will a set of Nevegals improve traction on dry, dusty uphills or is it more a technique thing? I'm 64 years old and can climb all day but my skills ain't what they was!

I put on a Rock Shock Tora 302 u-turn this summer, it is great. with a little looking it has been discontinued, but you might be able to find one cheap. Installing it isn't that hard if you have all the tools, I did mine in about an hour. it would take much less next time.

It looks like Sram has replaced the Tora and the Dart lines with a nex XC line the U-turn is really nice i can have it set 85-130mm.

good luck
