Hi,I'm new to this website and need some edvice on getting a new bike. For my new bike I'm willing to spend around 700$-900$. I'm around 5'9 and 135lbs. I do enjoy doing just about everything and would prefere a hardtail. This question probably gets ask alot but it's summer (time to be lazy :thumbsup: )

For $700-$900, you could get a Gary Fisher Tassajara Disc, Trek 6500, Trek 6500 Disc, all hardtail. I personally would recommend the 6500 Disc. Check your LBS, tell them what you want, they might help.

How about hardrock sport-disc/ comp-disc/ pro-disc??

go to your LBS and see what bikes are in your price range and ride as many as possible. i would say stick with the larger names like Giant, Trek, Specialized, Gary Fisher, Kona, etc...

buy a good used bike...you will get more bang for your buck

I agree with the Kona Caldera reccomendation. It's designed for the terrain right next door to you (overbuilt for the northshore; B.C.).

On second thought...

I just looked at your profile and it said you like to freeride. Is this what you want the bike for? If so, then maybe you want to look at some other alternatives such as something made from Norco, Banshee, Devinci, Cove, Rocky Mountain, Kona, etc. These are Canadian bike companies, there are vast options from other bike companies from around the world as well.

Please respond with what type of riding you plan to do for a more tailored reccomendation.
