I was talking with a friend about an old Specialized, I believe, with a mechanical suspension front and and the Use of elastomers for the rear of the bike. I remember riding this bike sometime in the mid 90s it must have been 95-96 but I can't find any information or pics on the bike. All I can really remember is it was a red bike (specialized) with bright Yellow elastomers on the outside. I was hoping someone in this forum might be able to post a pic or send me in the right direction to find this out. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

BTW: I may be off on the years b/c I have been known to do that but I am pretty sure it was when I said it was.

I believe that you gentlemen may be correct on the proflex. Would explain why all my searches on specialized came back with no answers. :D

That back end on the proflex is exactly what I was talking about.

after seeing the pics of the spec I am sure it was a proflex. I was just curious b/c like I was telling my friend that the pro-flex and the Cannondale Flying V were the 1st full suspension bikes that I have ever ridden. Not owned but taken for a spin on the local trails.

Plus being the mid 90s and being in my early 20s I was invincible on my HT and could Skoff at any FS. Now of course I love the sweet feel of a squishy rear (bike of course).
