Hey,

I ride a Yakuza Chimpira an all mountain hard tail. I'm looking to purchase new tires I currently roll WTB Moto Raptor 2.4s. I like them a lot but they are getting down their. I ride aggressive downhill at ski resorts, but since this is my only MTB I ride it to work, class, dirt jumping, and cross country. I really like the look and feel of a 2.5 and am not too worried about dragging a heavy tire around on the streets I just don't want it to wear out extremely fast. I want to focus on a solid downhill tire for Colorado front range conditions (Keystone, Vail, etc).

Get a Minion DHF in 3C compound for the front and a DHF Maxxpro (60a) for the back. It will grip well and wear down slowly!

Minions in 60A are stellar. I have two Northstar rides on mine and they're heads and shoulders above Nevegals.

Minion's all the way. The 909's are very nice tires but the minions will have the best traction to wear ratio

909's are great tires. I'm runing a 909 DC 2ply in the back. Grips like a moto tire, sounds like one too. But FRO's are heavy beezys no thanks.

Minion up front 3C or 60a and either a highroller or 909 in the back.

Give FRO lites a try, they are actually pretty light.
