I have the 06 s-works stumpy with the TALAS fork.
I use the adjustable travel all the time.
steep climbs are much eaiser for me.
I dont have to work so hard to keep the front wheel on the ground
I voted for the 05 with the TALAS fork

If you look around and get a price match you can get the comp for a lot less cash.
I got mine from www.mikesbikes.com for $1799.99 +tax two weeks ago.

I didnt order it online, they are one of my LBS.

Keep Lookin

i just bought an 06 sj expert (3 weeks ago) for $2300, it was a test bike with <5 rides on it. And after i got it, someone told me they got the exact same bike for $2100.:madman:
I would look around a little more, if i were you. I think the triad and talas are well worth the extra $.

I would go for the 06 model as well. I'm in good w/ my LBS and got a brand new '06 FSR expert for $2300 after riding their test bike. I believe there is a geometry change between '05 & '06. I liked the '06 better. I rode the "05 FSR expert 120, 100 & the '06 120. The '06 models just felt the best. Good luck. Either way you can't go wrong. These bikes are awesome!
