i've just gotten a Manitou metel R shock. How do i remove the current coil and put in the new coil... i read the manual and it doesnt seem to be working... How do i remove the retainer clip???

anyone got any ideas??? It's a 600lbs spring so i cant compress it and take out the retainer...

I think some guys in the Turner forum were talking about sitting on the bike and tightening zip ties around the coils to keep it compressed because they were having the same problem.

Exactly.

Get some thick zip ties, and compress the shock while it is in the frame. zip tie the coils together, and you are good.
