hi im just looking for some honest advice
i ride a giant xtc se and its a great bike no problems but i am looking to upgrade the forks i can only affod like up to £300 and i only weigh 8 stone cos im only 14 im not worryed about replacing the hub for a bolt thru axel but i dont want to mess with the geomatry of the bike too much

He says he doesn't want 20mm and then he will need a new wheel, get some Rock Shox Recons or Toras depending on how much you want to spend, bot good solid forks, get the U-Turn version for easy travel adjustment.

You do realize this was designed as an XC race frame, right?

I'd get a Reba. The bike would still have normal angles with one. Or maybe an '06 Fox Vanilla on closeout, and reduce the travel to 100mm. It's a dead simple switch. Just don't get an '07 Vanilla, because you'd be stuck at 140mm, which would make your bike handle like an aircraft carrier.
