Dear bikers!

I ordered a new AL bike from Cube and noticed a strange defect on the bike frame during the delivery.
It looks like some problems with the paint - maybe it hasn't adhered to the surface properly or maybe stains of the black paint. In these spots, it is covered by varnish and polished.
Overall it seems safe, but want to double-check with experts - maybe you know what it could be and if it could make any problems during future bike use? Should I request a bike exchange (it could take up to 3-4 months due to the stock shortage) or it should be fine?

You can get some Testors metallic model paint and a little brush and touch it up. The bike going to get scratched a lot sooner or later. No one will know. I rode my Santa Cruz bike around for about two months before I noticed the protective plastic was still on the headtube logo. Now there are a lot of scratches. Well earned:)
Is that a Cube Stereo 120 pro? Nice looking bike. Have fun with that......

Man that sucks... It's just cosmetic though. If you were able to walk into a shop and swap it out real quick, I'd say yeah, but 3-4 months no way. Cube would just paint over it anyway, so it's just aesthetic. Annoying getting a new bike that's slightly less than perfect, but in 3-4 months you'll hopefully scratch it up a lot more than that.

Dope bike btw. Enjoy and go ride!!

I had a small finish defect on my recent new frame. I just grabbed some colour matching nail polish to cover the area. Unless you looked really closely you couldn't tell there was an issue. You shouldn't have a problem finding a good match for a silver frame if you want to cover the defect.

If the rest of the bike is in good shape I'd just keep it and ride it. You could exchange it and end up with an issue that actually impacted performance and wish you had kept that first frame.

I walked my Giant into the shop for a curiosity about paint delaminating near the axle... Hah, I planned to just show them, schedule a plan, and ride it in the meantime but they wouldn't let me walk out with the bike! They said 'we don't want to let you ride it, so please leave it hear and we'll replace your swingarm'. That's great but it took them like 6 months to do it! So, besides what others said, you could also be left with no bike for a pretty long time. EDIT- That was in late 2019 so god knows what it could be these days.
