Need advice about BLT

This small piece of aluminium makes me crasy, because it is the cause of my BLT creaking. This thing is a part of rear shock pivot and it defines the distance of the titanium link to rear swingarm bearing. It should be pressed into Ti link and should move around axle (it works as a bushing for the Ti link). But it bit the axle and started to move in the Ti link with creaking sound. You can see the deep grooves on the sheen part of it. I have two questions for you. Can I fix this alu part in Ti link somehow (loktite ?). Should I grease axle before putting everything together ? Thank for quick reply. And special question for TNC. Have you seen such a thing in your bike shop ?

Hi,

I'm sorry I can't answer your question directly. I had an annoying creaking sound from my BLT as well. This happened after time with repeated washings. And I did not spray directly into the links. Now I wash it even more carefully. However, I did bring my bike into cycle solutions in Toronto and they fixed it all up. No more creaking, thank god. They said there was alot of water in the lower link causing the noise. They also mentioned there was alot of water in the headset and had to dry it out as well. If you live in the area maybe check them out. They had it fixed in one day. Great service.
