I finally decided it was time for a 29er so I ordered a Niner ROS 9 from Price Point. I got it on sale which is what really swayed me. It's a pretty basic build, but there are some upgrades planned. Here's the specs:

Manitou Tower Pro 120mm
Hayes Stroker Disc 180/160
Easton EA70 XC wheels
Race Face Evolve Crank
X7 drivetrain
Easton Handle Bars
WTB Speed V Saddle

I added an X9 Type 2 RD and bought an X9 shifter. I also bought a Race Face N/W chain ring for the front. All the X7 stuff is going to my old 26er for my son. I'll also likely upgrade to a dropper post and carbon bars and stem, we'll see what happens. To say I'm stoked is an under statement!

Here she is.

You can go up to a 140mm. The bike came with the 120mm as built. I'm going to ride it as is and see how I like it, I can always upgrade at a later date.

120 is plenty for a hardtail. I ride my 100mm HT on the same AM style trails as my 140mm FS bike, albeit a bit slower on the fast rugged descents... but faster on the ups.

Get the dropper post... best possible investment.
