Yesterday, I went to the Cushetunk Mountain Nature Preserve, which is behind Round Valley Recreation Area. I followed the wooden-pole powerline road east to the intersection with the high tension wires, and then I followed the high tension wires for maybe 50 or a 100 feet, and then took a trail right into the woods. It is actually an old logging road, and there were a lot of tree branches down, and a big tree down right across the trail at one point, but I found a way around it. The trail climbs gradually at first, and then it gets very steep. I got too tired from climbing the very steep part, and I couldn't make it to the top of the mountain, so I had to turn around and go back the way I came. I have to get in better shape before I try climbing that mountain again!
